Pascale BazilleOne of my first memories was of my father's sawmill - I loved visiting and watching as wood was turned from tree trunks to delicate spindles or immaculately carved wooden panels. The smell, sound and the feel of wood intrigued me. Much later I observed my mother's developing passion for art, it consumed me, she spent every waking hour painting, sketching or organising exhibitions. What was behind this love-affair? It was only, whilst I tried to understand someone else's journey that I made the first tentative steps on a journey of my own. Always an ardent traveler my head was full of the colours and forms of places both near and far. To begin with I captured my experiences on film but that was never enough. Gradually I started to express myself through painting using a wide variety of Media - watercolour, acrylic and oil. My paintings talk about my travels and experiences in a way that I could never capture before my artistic journey began.
